Fun with Fire and Alcohol

Description: Fire is hot sometimes. I don't know the hard science behind it, but from what I gather, the fire burns relatively cool, and its not enough to boil off the water thats part of the solution soaked in the pad, so it just sucks up large amounts of oxygen for the inefficient fuel that is alcohol, which gets sucked up so fast that it doesn't have time to burn anything, including my hand.

But even if heat rising had any effect on the temperature, there is some flame beneath some of your hand so you would still be badly burned if you were using certain substances.
