Isn't deception in fact one of the most important aspects of sports (a point guard pump fakes to shake a defender, a pitcher has to deceive the batter)? Such "coaches" who think such a play is appropriate teach kids that it is OK to mislead and trick, i.e. the coach is desperate to win and lacks the confidence and creativity and ability to teach kids fair play and execution. And Letterman calls it impressive. And we wonder why professional sports is in the condition that it is in today. And these coaches get paid to be such role models for children.
