kirrevargashotmailco ::: Favorites 2007-08-26 12:59:35 It's not above speed of sound... If it was, you'd be deaf. __________________________________________________
syncplay ::: Favorites 2007-08-26 22:59:48 Sure it was - they had hearing protection or covered their ears. The shock wave kicking up the water below confirms this. __________________________________________________
kirrevargashotmailco ::: Favorites 2007-08-27 08:34:58 That's not sonic-boom shockwave... It's just the regular air that the fighter pushes out of his way. __________________________________________________
syncplay ::: Favorites 2007-08-27 12:46:00 No, I don't think so. A plane wouldn't produce a near-perpendicular downdraft, let alone a draft that fast or strong. Also note that you hear absolutly nothing from the plane prior to the boom (once the camera is in the slightly-rearward shockwave region). __________________________________________________
kirrevargashotmailco ::: Favorites 2007-08-28 09:24:16 That is because the plane is so close to soundspeed that the sound it makes comes out as a "cone". So even though he didn't pass the speed of sound, the "shockwave" (sound) touches the water (and camera, and everything) a little bit behind it. You could be right, though. That really was loud... __________________________________________________
