rapartist43 ::: Favorites 2007-12-29 04:42:00 true. he was poor because he died for judaism and ppl used him to create a new religion __________________________________________________
BryanAJParry ::: Favorites 2007-12-28 11:42:17 When you say "poor", what do you mean? Do you mean money-wise or intellect-wise? I think he was half-decent as a preacher, but no where near the great moral leader that Xians claim. __________________________________________________
rapartist43 ::: Favorites 2007-12-28 07:40:46 here's another one: chelm . freeyellow . com/page13.html __________________________________________________
rapartist43 ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 16:22:00 jewsforjudaism . org/jews-jesus/jews-jesus-index.html - this is pretty interesting. look what the jews (those who understand the torah) say about this! __________________________________________________
rapartist43 ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 16:19:38 he was no more than a misunderstood poor preacher who was killed for political reasons. here's a prophecy for you: Genesis 16:12 - it refers to ishmael, the first arab. ;-) __________________________________________________
BryanAJParry ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 16:16:13 I of course don't find prophecy particularly impressive anyway. I mean if the bible had made any prophecies that were as accurate far-sighted & perceptive as the observations made by Lucretius I wouldn't convert but I'd sit up and take notice at least. But even then unimpressive as prophecy is you're right:Jesus doesn't seem to fulfill the OT. I view him as an eccentric, cranky soothsaying, reformist. __________________________________________________
BryanAJParry ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 16:13:38 A bit OT, but where did you pick "a.s.o" up ? I have been trying to spread it! I wonder if I have suceeded or if someone else is spreading it. __________________________________________________
rapartist43 ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 15:49:29 It's true. Jews would piss themselves laughing - if it weren't that sad, too. __________________________________________________
rapartist43 ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 14:47:53 and it's true. jesus did not fulfill all prophecies. in fact, he didn't even fulfill the most important ones, too. the jews should recognize the mashiach and all of them would gather in israel, world peace, a.s.o. __________________________________________________
BryanAJParry ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 14:42:21 Indeed. I have heard this. __________________________________________________
rapartist43 ::: Favorites 2007-12-27 14:12:46 well, the truth simply is that isaiah 7:14 refers to an event 700 years earlier, it was taken out of context and interpreted falsely! This is how you can prove both - christians AND muslims - to follow false religions! __________________________________________________
qtchica92 ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 04:47:30 To Ponder This Is A Matter Of Faith...How Much Does Each Have?...God Bless You...I Was Born Jesse But Am Called John....I Wonder If My Existence Would Ever Be Debated?..I Leave You With This "God Was With Us"..A.K.A "Jesus" __________________________________________________
JasonAFoster1 ::: Favorites 2007-10-10 03:59:09 When will these questions keep coming? They wont...you need faith. Pray about it. Thanks for your time and keep searching. __________________________________________________
JasonAFoster1 ::: Favorites 2007-10-10 03:58:47 Some scholars believe Immanuel is one of Ahaz's sons Shear-jashub ("a remnant will return"), or Maher-shalal-hash-baz ("hurrying to the spoil"). Which ever way we look at this though will require one key ingrediant we all battle with and thats faith brother. You wont get the answer you're looking for without that. Another thing I've learned from others and just living out my faith...listen to this ok...more answers just lead to more questions. __________________________________________________
JasonAFoster1 ::: Favorites 2007-10-10 03:58:21 I did as you did and checked out the original Hebrew meaning for -alma- and found out it actually meant a "woman of marrying age" or a "woman of young age". So we really do come to a fork in the road. Is Jesus Immanuel or is God speaking through the prophet Isaiah of Ahaz's son. __________________________________________________ |
