SwordfighterRed ::: Favorites 2007-12-20 19:00:50 Well, the American version was considered more difficult. __________________________________________________
SwordfighterRed ::: Favorites 2007-12-20 19:00:15 Sheesh, dude. Don't get defensive. __________________________________________________
xXNickPXx ::: Favorites 2007-12-16 22:01:32 Yeah unfortunately much of the brilliance of this Japanese version's compositions is hidden by the fact that a few channels are far too quiet. Luckily with the right NSF players we can boost those channels, but gamers back in the day didn't really get the full force of how amazing the compositions really are. __________________________________________________
MarsJenkar ::: Favorites 2007-11-09 07:33:14 The music differences between the two versions can't be explained merely by changes Nintendo made. For example, the two versions of "Dejavu" (Vampire Killer) are distinct from each other in ways inconsistent with that theory. More likely, Konami redid the music. And I never said that the soundchip was *in* the console. I said the special chip was *compatible* with the FDS hardware, but not the NES. __________________________________________________
SwordfighterRed ::: Favorites 2007-11-05 14:44:30 The extra chip was present in the Famicom cartridges themselves, and they were manufactured by Konami. The American cartridges were made strictly by Nintendo, and all implications therein. From what I've heard. __________________________________________________
MarsJenkar ::: Favorites 2007-11-03 09:51:38 Actually, I think the hardware is a bit different. Famicom is equivalent to the NES but I'm pretty sure it's not exactly the same. I heard the extra soundchip they had for the FDS version of this game wasn't compatible with the American consoles, so the music had to be redone. Some of the background effects in the FDS version (the Nightmare Cave, where Alucard was, for example) were also irreproducible. __________________________________________________
JohtoKen ::: Favorites 2007-11-01 19:35:14 Famicom = NES. It's the same system, but NoA decided to cut off ext. chip support sound-wise. Why they did that is beyond me right now. __________________________________________________
VaderNES ::: Favorites 2007-10-17 22:45:07 I am lucky enough to own a Famicom, so I can play Castlevania 3 with better music and no censorship or anything. The American NES won't play this version. __________________________________________________
BigBoss023 ::: Favorites 2007-10-13 09:24:09 And the legendary "HELP ME" code that lets you start off with 10 lives wasn't implemented into this game, and was only available to us American gamers. __________________________________________________

johannesmutlu ::: Favorites 2007-08-28 18:06:16 i,ve the japanese castlevania 3+av famicom but the famicom,s sound is to soft compared with the vrc6 chip,so i need a equipment wich can amplifier the soft soundchannels untill they match the loudest sound,s or visa versa and i can hear all sound channels perfect,with bass boost i can eliminate noise,will my tv can improve the video signal. overall if i can find that equipment then i ,m 100% happy!!! __________________________________________________ |
